@&%*(%^# 29 December, 2007

I am still diseased! It’s been two weeks and I am still diseased! I can’t go out of the house for more than two or three hours without feeling like I’ve moved three days in the wrong direction. I have to go back to work in four days and I am still ill and I am FED UP.

Lousy @&%*(%^# virus.

I hear you. Three weeks and counting for me. I’m grateful that I don’t have to work, but looking after AJ takes it out of you. Swap??!!

Ah hon, I don’t know which is worse…

Got an appointment to see my GP tomorrow morning – not expecting that he’ll tell me anything other than to let the virus take its course but I’ve coughed so much now my chest is hurting like crazy and just like you I’m still producing loads of mucus and phlegm (charming).

I’m worried about deadlines 😦

Your deadlines are probably as inflexible as mine….but at least you know what yours are. Aly could appear whenever she fancies…..

Hopefully your GP will be a little more useful than mine (a shrug and a ‘dunno’ was not exactly reassuring). I’m just relieved I’m down to two hits of paracetamol a day, because I think I was in danger of becoming too dependent.

Don’t hurt yourself or bump by letting work rule. I know it’s hard but you have to think of yourself first and be a little less conscientious – I know you!

Take care, hon, and Happy New Year to the three of you!

Paranoia and a slight amount of stressy-ness can sometimes be an asset at work! Why not try unleashing them and your germs on the office? 😉

5. monopod - 2 January, 2008

I have already noticed an increase in the level of grumpy pregnant woman-bolshiness being displayed in out-of-work contexts. In a job that requires a considerable amount of tact, charm and diplomacy, this might be a slippery slip, Case… (NB: I have already been instructed not to bring my germy body into the office hence am having to work from home tomorrow and on Friday!)

G, saw the GP today and have effectively been told by both him and the pharmacist that the bug I’ve probably got is a particularly nasty one but there is nothing I can take so I just have to grin and bear it… I do seem to be getting there (verrrryyyy slooooowly) though so I shall persevere!

And Happy New Year to you, Bumpster, AJ and Aly too!

7. bouncybaby - 3 January, 2008

It’s a pain, isn’t it, but at least it’s getting better! The whole ‘nothing you can take’ thing is seriously aggravating.

I’m finally clearing up, too. Down to one paracetamol hit a day to help me sleep, and only got through half a box of tissues yesterday! lol

Fingers crossed! Hoping you get better really soon G.

And you! I’m sure being at home will help.
